ABOUT ME

Life for me is about living every day! Make it count and have no regrets!
After a major riding accident at 23yrs old, where I broke my back, I sought out some amazing mentors and horsemen to guide me back into the saddle. It was this accident that caused me to change my way of thinking and training, turns out some of the worst things that happen to you in life can actually become some of the best things! I understand what it's like to be unconfident and scared, it took me 4yrs to put my foot back in the stirrup, but with the correct guidance and support I've never looked back. It is my students and horses confidence that is the highest priority for me when I am coaching or training.
I’m a strong advocate of never ending self-development , I love learning and experiencing new challenges. I have a passion for helping people and horses alike, that’s why I love to share the knowledge that has been passed onto me by great horsemen such as Russell Higgins, Buck Brannaman, Pat & Linda Parelli and more recently Warwick Schiller! The principles of good horsemanship fit in with my personal values of helping people get more out of life and to be the best they can be!
As you can see below I have a few horses here at home and most of them are fairly young, I have a passion for developing a young horses foundation with competition goals in mind as well as sharing my knowledge with eager students through weekend clinics, intensive camps, one on one and group lessons.
It's not about the tack, the clothing, the shoes, or the hat, it's about developing a solid foundation so that you can have a happy horse, happy life! You'll often see me in a cowboy hat with jodphurs, cowboy boots and full leather chaps riding in a jumping saddle!
Meet my horses

Hail
14yr old Arab x Dutch Warmblood gelding by Voltaire II
Hail has been my partner for the past 11yrs. He is an extrovert who is naturally very athletic and can be a quirky character at times. He seems just as happy working cattle as he does in the jumping arena! I will often allow students to ride him in order for them to learn a little "feel".

Maggie
9yr old Stationbred x Arab mare by Shaklan Magic
Maggie came to me as a freshly started 3yr old. She's extremely athletic and has effortless paces. I have competitive goals for her in the future and get excited every time I ride her.

Shadow
6yr old mare by GT Jake
Shadow is our first homebred foal. She has been a pleasure to develop, loves food and attention!

Ella
7yr old Thoroughbred mare by Melbourne cup winner Shocking
Ella came to us as a 3yr old OTTB retiring from a brief career on the race track. She is a wonderful horse for my husband to ride and develop his horsemanship skills with. Gotta love a great Thoroughbred!

Enzo
4yr NZ Sport horse
Enzo is just beginning his career under saddle, he's a skeptical yet curious youngster who loves to please.

Tino
4yr gelding by ES Centavos
Tino is our 2nd homebred foal and one that I am very excited about! He is also beginning his career under saddle. He is a very confident youngster who is often described as being "naughty". He's a real character!

Elvis
Rising 3yr Quarter Horse colt
Our first QH here at Walnut Ridge. A beautiful smokey black colt with an amazing attitude and personality. An exciting Cowboy Challenge prospect.
